eyewitness news in high- definition. >> good evening. a waste around the world is back on tonight. 10 boats left jack london square in open, the same yacht that was the subject of a co-star rescue after being hit by a large wave. three crewmembers were. we spoke to two of them that are back on board despite their injuries. >> i am pretty nervous because the last time i was on the boat was when i was trapped and in pain. >> blinds for punishment, the crew is going back for more. participating in a race around the world and on their most recent leg from china to america they were hit by a rogue waves 400 mi. off the california coast. >> there was a mighty noise like a freight train and then all of a sudden, we were under water.

murder-suicide in the parking lot of south san jose shopping center. police were called to starbucks parking lot by witnesses that heard gunshots. officers found a man and woman that had both been shot in head. the man's body was near a silver bmw and inside a 17 month old girl. >> we have a male and female, ages are still being investigated. as to where they're from and what the relationship is between the two of them. if there is any. >> police say they're confident the shootings were murder- suicide and there's no threat to public safety. the child has been turned over to protective services. police and oakland looking for vandals that set a parking lot attendance boost on fire. officer showed up to the downtown parking lot around midnight. in addition to the arson found

more than 15 cars had been broken into. volunteers cover new ground in the search for sierra lamar. law enforcement divers searched to reservoirs' without finding anything. it has been almost a month since she failed to come home from school. the detectives are planning on knocking on doors in the neighborhood to try and find more information. a group of citizen volunteers will be patrolling the streets of oakland tonight. last friday police said that that there were more 9 1 1 calls than the available officers karen bass some calls had to be ignored. a group called the bay area safety patrol has announced that it wants to help out. volunteers will be patrolling international boulevard tonight and we will have more on their efforts tonight at 11:00 right here on cbs 5. the secret service has placed 11 employees on administrative leave for misconduct in colombia. they were working on security

ahead of the president's trip to the south american country. the agency will not disclose the nature of the allegations but a source tells cbs news that one or more of the agents were involved with prostitutes and that there was a dispute over payment. >> the president is obviously aware of the incident. but beyond that, this is a matter that the secret service is looking into. >> 5 military service members have been confined to quarters for being involved in the misconduct. meanwhile at the summit of the americas the president says that legalizing drug use is not the answer to trafficking in illegal narcotics in the americas. the president is countering a growing chorus in latin america to decriminalized drug use as a way to ease deadly cartel violence. he did say that he is open to having a debate about legalization. once the home of occupy, the tea party took over san fransisco justin herman plaza today.

>> today marks 100 years since the ships representing the ultimate in luxury and safety sank. more than 1500 people died when the titanic went down. there have been ceremonies around the world observing the 100th anniversary. tonight we take you inside of a tennessee museum that offers a glimpse of luxury past. it may be 100 years since the titanic sank to the ocean floor. but the world is still captivated by her faithful voyage. >> from belfast, to halifax. two tiny pigeon forge tennessee. >people are lining up by the thousands to see the titanic-she was a century ago.

>> you looked through these nine windows, that is the way the constellation looked that night. there was no moon. there was no wind, you cannot see any water lapping up against an iceberg, it was a combination of errors that took place. >> visitors to the titanic museum in tennessee are transported back to 1912. they see life in the third class cabins, experienced a nightmare of trying to escape hellish scenarios. and the beauty of the ship before she was lost. there may be no better representation of the majesty of the titanic then this, the grand staircase. a first-class passengers and three points to the biggest and best ship of the time. what remains are haunting images. the only photographs taken aboard the titanic, madeleine's life preserver and the 1500 names of those who perished in the icy waters of the north atlantic. >> you are in love with this?

>> yes i am, i am fascinated by it, it has a great mistake. >> the museum is the vision of john and his wife mary. >> what is the 100 deer anniversary of the titanic mean to you? >> it means to me that we have a position in life where we are helping to carry the legacy of titanic and we're often asked how do we pay respects to those that give their lives? and that is simply to tell their stories. >> there will be a memorial ceremony tonight at the place where the titanic sank, on a cruise ship that left southampton nearly a week ago. a picture-perfect day, i have friends visiting from michigan and could not have ordered better weather to see san fransisco. >> he took a walk across the golden gate bridge? >> yes with all the other tourists. >> temperatures outside not to bad. still in the '60s and a lot of spots. blue skies in the background,

we're seeing a few '50s out there. 50 degrees right now and san fransisco in santa rosa still coming in around 67 degrees. tonight a few clouds will roll in and partly cloudy skies is what we will see. temperatures in the mid to upper '40's across the bay area, could see some reason conditions in the day and and once again for the rest of the weekend tomorrow it looks like sunny skies and some cheers mainly in the '50s to 60s around the coast and day. but some spots will reach the very low seventies. plenty of sunshine, high pressure is still in effect keeping us high and dry over the next several days. i know that she mentioned a chance of rain and we will talk about that coming up in just a little bit but whenever we get will not be much. mostly dry skies and mild temperatures. no where near freezing. temperatures mainly in the mid to upper '40's. 45 in fremont. and 48 degrees overnight in san fransisco. the wind will slowly die down, and for tomorrow sunny skies all across northern california with

a high of 72 in sacramento and only 53 degrees in lake tahoe. closer to home across the bay area we will squeeze out some very low seventies, especially in the south bay. 70 in mountain view and about 70 degrees in livermore. otherwise mid-60's around the bay. areas like sandra fell, low 60s tomorrow. here's your forecast over the next several days. partly sunny skies tomorrow. dry weather for the most part for the giants game and then monday looks like some mergers remain dry, tuesday, wednesday is when we will have a chance of rain in the north bay, a 10 percent chance. that is it. thursday and friday looks like it will remain dry for the remainder of the work week. here is kim with sports. >> the giants may be in the market for new clothes are, and he may have been the greatest he m[ teen ] times are good,t aren't they, kids?

2/1 in double overtime to tie the series at eight games each. the warriors has shut down this season and it looks like the team's leading scorer david lee will join them to today groin injury. one of the nine warriors to suit up this afternoon in los angeles. the clippers are in town. the clippers jump down to a 24/5 lead but the warriors fought back and made things interesting it. thompson ties it at 66 with two of his 24 points. the clippers pulled away again in the fourth. paul steals the past from eight robinson and leaves it for eric. the finish with 28 points and 13 assists. the clippers when 100 12/1 hundred for. the warriors need to finish in the bottom seventh to keep their traffic otherwise it will go to utah as part of the market's marcus williams trade.
